Mark Zuckerberg To Develop His Own Personal Artificial Intelligence Helper
From our long hours of consuming science-fiction flicks, series and books, we know having personal artificial intelligence at our beck and call would be super cool. We have seen how a popular character from a Marvel movie has made owning an AI a glamorous thing.
It appears a certain real-life social media giant CEO wants to follow the steps of Mr. Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man as well when it comes to AI ownership. Thanks to the latest status updateappearing on Facebook, even Mark Zuckerberg is looking to create this own personal AI assistant.
According to Zuckerberg, who is extremely fond of taking personal challenges, he taken upon himself to build a simple AI program that will run his home and help him with his day to day work activities.
Every year, I take on a personal challenge to learn new things and grow outside my work at Facebook. My challenges in recent years have been to read two books every month, learn Mandarin and meet a new person every day. My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work. You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man. – Mark Zuckerberg
How Is Mark Going To Accomplish This?
According to the CEO of Facebook, he has not tapped the surface of what technology is able to offer. He intends to explore this field of artificial intelligence more. Here’s what he has in mind for the AI he plans on developing initially:
“I’m going to start by exploring what technology is already out there. Then I’ll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home — music, lights, temperature and so on. I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell. I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s room that I need to check on when I’m not with her. On the work side, it’ll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively.”
As a CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is very involved with his employees, particularly engineers, who continue to make new things when it comes to technical projects. Since this project is definitely going to be a challenge on a whole new platform, Zuckerberg will need to adopt a mindset that he previously did when he successfully made his social networking website back in 2005.
Are we actually looking at a real life J.A.R.V.I.S in the near future?
