PTCL Announces Biometric Verification of EVO, Nitro Devices Before 31st Dec
During the second phase of biometric verification of SIMs, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has asked all data SIM providers to verify their customers through biometric verification system before December 31st, 2015.
While cellular operators were already verifying their customers through BVS, PTCL has now asked its customers to get their EVO and Nitro devices verified through BVS before December 31st, 2015.
PTCL is currently in process of communicating its customers — through SMS and email broadcast — to get their devices verified to avoid any troubles after the deadline.
A PTA official confirmed ProPakistani that data SIMs are to be verified under National Action Plan. “This new verification drive is continuation of SIM verification campaign that cellular companies conducted during Feb-May 2015”, said the official.
PTA confirmed us that any unverified data SIMs — of any operator — will be blocked after the deadline.
PTCL asked its customers to get their EVO, Nitro and Charji devices verified from PTCL’s One Stop Shops, Ufone Service centers and franchises or from Ufone retailers.
According to PTA, there are around 1.2 million EVO, Nitro and Charji customers in the country, who have been given just 30 days for biometric verification before their connections are blocked.
