Windows 10 Concept Brings A Hamburger Menu In File Explorer

If there is one area of the desktop environment in Microsoft’s new OS that could use a lot of touchups, it is File Explorer. This Windows 10 concept envisions what a revamp could look like.

Designed by DeviantArt users MZN0, this concept throws a Modern UI element into the mix.

A Modern UI element that has generated a bit of criticism.

Yes, the fan favorite (or not) hamburger menu, which many believe is directly inspired from Android, and which many want out of Windows 10. This despite the fact that Microsoft seems rather keen on using the hamburger menu in its upcoming operating system.

Anyway, this concept borrows a few design elements from the Metro apps including minimalistic icons and some new fonts.

Hard to see Microsoft going in with changes like this.

But a more telling shortcoming of this particular concept is that it comes without tab support. This is one of the more awaited features that will be part of Windows 10, and it is hard to imagine File Explorer without it now.
