Turn Your iPhone Into ‘Back to the Future’s’ DeLorean

Courtesy of Crazy Case, you can now dress up your iPhone 6 to look like the famous DeLorean time machine fromBack to the Future.

Actually, make that Back to the Future II, the sequel to the hit 1985 movie. The case depicts a DeLorean DMC-12 with its wheels turned up for flight, a modification Doc Brown made to the vehicle following the events of the first film, along with replacing its plutonium reactor with a “Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor” generator which only required garbage to work.

This iPhone accessory won’t let you travel back and forth in time, but it’s certainly good for some 1980s nostalgia. Blue LEDs light up the front bumper and rear tubing to signal that the DeLorean’s “flux capacitor” is fired up and ready to peel back the calendar for its occupants.

You’ll also need to slide parts of the case open to access the iPhone’s camera and controls, while incoming calls light up the headlights.

Per CNET, the Crazy Case Back to the Future II iPhone cover is arriving in June and is priced at $50. You can pre-order the case via p-bandai.jp, but you’ll likely need to brush up on your Japanese to place a successful order.

The release of this product in 2015 wasn’t a coincidence, by the way. Following their adventures in the past from the first film, Doc Brown and Marty McFly zip ahead to the year 2015 in Back to Future II in order to keep Marty’s future son out of jail.

Meanwhile, the DeLorean case isn’t the first movie vehicle-inspired offering from Crazy Case. As CNET noted, the company has also given us an iPhone cover based on the Wayne Enterprises Tumbler version of the Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films.
