Samsung Announces the 128GB Galaxy Note 5 Version
After removing an expansion storage slot from its high-end smartphones earlier this year, Samsung has bumped up the internal storage of its flagship handset, Galaxy Note 5 to 128GB and has took to calling it the Winter Edition. The smartphone will be available in two color schemes; Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. Since the phone has been announced by the company recently, it will take a while to reach Pakistan’s market, and no doubt it will carry a much larger price compared to the 32GB and 64GB models.
Why We Should Be Excited About this?
However, it is highly possible that the introduction of this storage model will reduce the pricing of the smaller storage versions, allowing the smartphone to become affordable for a slightly wider range of consumers. As for the specifications, the 128GB Galaxy Note 5 is running the company’s own developed Exynos 7420 running an octa-core processor comprising of four Cortex-A57 cores (clock speed of 2.1GHz) and four Cortex-A53 cores (clock speed of 1.5GHz). There is also 4GB of RAM and the smartphone is running a more refined version of Samsung’s TouchWiz, which has been criticized for being a severe memory hog.
Earlier, we spoke about how companies have started to reduce the crucial expandable storage feature primarily because it allows manufacturers to price their products at premium rates. However, at the same time, companies are fully aware that consumers attempt to save as much money as possible by opting to go for the base internal storage model, and then purchasing an inferior performance microSD storage card, which destroys the performance of the smartphone. With 128GB of internal storage, more on-board storage will be available for customers, which is obviously faster than even the fastest memory cards out there.
According to CNET, the 128GB version of Galaxy Note 5 is going to carry a price of $843 in the Korean region.
