Faces Pakistan and Teena Collaborate to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

Faces Pakistan, an NGO, and Teena, a fashion brand owned by Hina Butt, join in a collaborative venture with the objective of providing support to educate and train rural women in enterprise development. This objective is carried out under the light of a much-needed strategy to promote the culture of entrepreneurship and the cottage industry which largely employs people from rural areas.

As an MNA of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and a popular entrepreneur, Hina Butt believes that rural women have immense talent in their craft and require a platform to showcase their talent.

Rural women excel at making beautiful hand embroideries and we aim at providing them necessary training and opportunities so they could elaborate and polish their skill and become successful entrepreneurs. – Hina Butt

How the Collaboration Will Help Women Entrepreneurs

The idea behind this collaboration is to get rural women selected by Faces Pakistan to work on Teena’s items. Once the products are sold, 100% profit will be given to women. As specifically stated, the collaboration will, ‘help rural women realise their potential, promote the culture of women entrepreneurship, and uplift the rural cottage industry.’

About Faces Pakistan

Founded by Javaid William, Faces Pakistan aims to help victims of discrimination by helping those from marginalized communities. The initiatives taken by Faces Pakistan can help them earn their livelihood and reclaim their independence.

‘Our aim behind setting up an NGO was to create a society where transparency and accountability plays a vital role. We also wanted to develop long-term and sustainable programmes that include improving the lives of marginalised communities through primary education, adult literacy, vocational training, enterprise development, health education, social cohesion and peace building, rehabilitation and reconstruction as well as the provision of safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation.’ – Elaine Alam, General Secretary of Faces Pakistan

Speaking of the collaboration, she also added, ‘We are honored to have the support of Hina Butt, who not only envisions empowering rural women but is also serving the nation by initiating such constructive programmes. Her tireless efforts, within her own capacity, and support for this programme is an example for all politicians to follow.’

We hope that with this initiative, many lives could be empowered and improved.
