Apple’s iPhone 6S+ Destroys Android Smartphones in Performance Benchmarks

It comes as no surprise that due to the hardware prowess and software calibration, the new bunch of iPhones are now the fastest phones on the market. Just by how much? There’s one graph to clear it all.

Antutu is one of the most widely used benchmark apps on mobile platforms right now. Its report for the top 10 smartphones on the year is credible due to its combining of elements such as UX, GPU, RAM, CPU, I/O, etc.

The report itself shouldn’t come as a surprise to a lot of people. The new iPhone 6s with its 64-bit 1.85 Ghz dual-core Apple A9 processor, PowerVR GT7600 graphics and 2 GB RAM is at the top of the list, that too by a fairly huge margin as is clear through the chart. The Apple device scored around the 132K mark.

The Huawei Mate 8, the giant Chinese maker’s flagship took the 2nd spot on the podium, thanks to its home-baked Kirin 950 silicon and 4 GB RAM that took it to the 92K mark. Another Chinese maker, Meizu with its Pro 5 took to 3rd third place, thanks to Samsung’s powerful Exynos 7420 octa-core chipset.

Samsung itself scrambled to the fourth and fifth spot with the same processor found in its Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ which have to push many more pixels than their Meizu counterpart.

At 6th, you got last year’s iPhone 6s (and 6s Plus), while Oneplus 2, Letv 1Pro, Xiaomi Note Pro and the Nexus 6P complete the top ten.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the deficiency of Qualcomm processors in the benchmark. Bar the Nexus 6P, we don’t find the company’s chips in the list at all, making the fact that the company totally screwed the 64-bit bandwagon a much likely possibility. It will be up to the new 820 to rectify what was wronged in this version.

Apple, though, can get away with using the same processor next year too without many people noticing the difference at all. With almost complete control over the development of its phone, the company’s real advantages might not have been realized after all, until now.
