Apple is making it’s own TV series — about apps.

In a collaboration with Will.i.am and two veteran Hollywood producers, Apple is making a ‘nonscripted’ show about apps. It’s not clear just what the subject matter of the show may be outside of the very vague ‘apps.’

Speaking with The New York Times, Apple senior vice president of Internet software and services Eddy Cue says “One of the things with the app store that was always great about it was the great ideas that people had to build things and create things.”

“This doesn’t mean that we are going into a huge amount of movie production or TV production or anything like that,” Cue continued.

Sadly, Apple isn’t discussing details. We don’t know how the show will be financed, when it will be released or how Apple plans to deliver it. The company has released content via Apple Music connect, but this project isn’t music related.

This new show is in addition to Apple’s current partnership with Vice, and separate from its rumored miniseries about Dr. Dre.

Cue’s comments suggest this is a one-off project from Apple, and not part of a larger initiative to secure original content.
